Fairways Abound — Hot Tub · Sleeps 16+ · Estate on the Fairway

The RTJ 10th fairway is your backyard — not a view from across the road, but the actual fairway, with the Oxmoor Valley clubhouse up the street. Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail puts 45 championship holes at your doorstep and the acclaimed Ross Bridge course 10 minutes away, with more Trail sites reachable in under two hours. Inside: 8 bedrooms across 3 floors, a full game room, a dedicated Bridal Room, and a hot tub on the covered porch. Sleeps 16+. The ultimate base camp.

The space
Outdoor living at Fairways Abound starts on the deck at the back corner of the house, with the RTJ 10th fairway in view and the kitchen just inside, so cooking for a crowd is easy — prep inside, step out, and you're at the grill. Two six-burner grills provide enough cooking space for the entire crew, with no waiting in line for the next steak or burger. An outdoor dining table seats 8 under a large umbrella for shaded lunches and long dinners overlooking the course. Downstairs, the hot tub sits on the covered porch just off the game room: sink in after a round and watch the last light fade over the course.

Inside, the main level opens into a generous living area anchored by a gas fireplace and windows that frame the fairway. The kitchen is built for a group: seating for 8 at the kitchen table, gas cooktop, double ovens (one convection), full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, a large island with a breakfast bar, deep pantry, and counter space for a full breakfast spread before an early tee time. The formal dining room seats 10 more for the evening meal. Off the living area, a sunroom with a direct golf course view is the best spot for morning coffee. The main-level king suite has a private bath and sunroom access. 1,000 Mbps WiFi handles anyone who needs to stay connected between rounds.

Just off the main hall, the Bridal Room is set up for the morning of: a dedicated vanity with a lit mirror for hair and makeup, a full-length mirror for the final look, and valet rods to hang the dress and the bridesmaids' gowns wrinkle-free. It's a quiet, private space sized for the bride and her stylist, with a bathroom right next door, and it's all on the main level — no carrying a gown down the stairs.

The upper level is the group's social core. A loft family room overlooks the living room below, with a Smart TV and a queen sleeper sofa for whoever claims the lounge. Around it: a king primary suite with private bath, three bedrooms with two queens each, and a twin room — ideal for couples or pairs who want their own space.

The basement is where the round gets replayed. The game room is built for a crowd: a full-size pool table, dartboard, table-tennis top, and an indoor putting green for settling bets that didn't get settled on the 18th. A retro VW-bus bar, old-school popcorn machine, and snack cart keep everyone fueled, with the game on the Smart TV. Step through to the adjoining lounge for poker night — a dedicated card table with chips, a second gas fireplace, and a wall-sized golf mural — or walk straight out to the covered porch and the hot tub. The basement also has its own coffee bar and a full-size refrigerator: guests sleeping downstairs get their morning coffee without climbing a flight of stairs, and ice-cold drinks are right around the corner from the game room to keep the games going. Three more sleeping areas round out the level: a primary suite with two queens and a private bath, a second private bedroom, and an open sleeping space with two queens.

Location and what's nearby

• Fairways Abound sits on Sunbelt Parkway in Bessemer — the same road as the RTJ Oxmoor Valley clubhouse — 15 minutes from downtown Birmingham.

• RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley — steps away: 45 championship holes across three courses (Ridge, Valley, and the 9-hole par-3 Back Yard) sculpted from the Appalachian foothills. This is your home course for the trip.

• RTJ Golf Trail at Ross Bridge — 10 minutes: Named a top golf resort in North America by Golf Magazine and one of the longest courses in the world. Ten holes play along two lakes connected by an 80-foot waterfall. The Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort & Spa is on-site for anyone who wants a spa day between rounds.

• The Barn at Shady Lane — 5 minutes: One of Alabama's top wedding venues, right down the road. With its main-level Bridal Room, Fairways Abound is the natural house for the bridal party or out-of-town guests.

• Downtown Birmingham — 15 minutes: Revitalized restaurant and nightlife district, Regions Field (minor league baseball), the historic Alabama Theatre.

Who this home is best for:
• Golf groups and Trail chasers: You've been planning this RTJ trip for a year. Fairways Abound is the base camp — Oxmoor Valley up the street, Ross Bridge 10 minutes away, and more Trail sites within two hours. The putting green, pool table, and poker table keep the competition going after dark, and the hot tub handles the post-round debrief.

• Wedding parties: The Barn at Shady Lane is five minutes down the road, and Fairways Abound is built for the day itself, not just the night before. The main-level Bridal Room gives the bride a dedicated getting-ready space, with a lit vanity, full-length mirror, and valet rods for dresses. The sunroom and fairway backdrop handle the getting-ready photos. The groomsmen have the basement: pool table, poker, and the hot tub. Everyone sleeps under one roof and nobody's coordinating hotel shuttles.

• Corporate retreats: Eight bedrooms, beds for 16+, a chef's kitchen, gigabit WiFi, a game room, and a full outdoor space with hot tub and two six-burner grills. Everything a leadership offsite needs without the conference room.

• Multi-generational groups: Three floors mean grandparents get the quiet main-level suite, couples take the upper-level bedrooms, and the younger crowd claims the basement and game room. Everyone comfortable; nobody crowded.
